Dopo la buona partenza negli Internazionali d’Italia a Viterbo, il team Tm Racing e Thomas Chareyre si presentano sul circuito di Limatola per difendere la tabella di campione del Mondo in carica.
Questo primo appuntamento mondiale si è corso sulla pista di Limatola, un bellissimo impianto. Purtroppo nella giornata di sabato la pioggia non ha dato un attimo di tregua.
Nelle qualifiche Thomas Chareyre non è riuscito a trovare il giusto feeling con la pista umida e, a causa di un’eccessiva usura della gomma posteriore, non è riuscito a fare meglio della 13° posizione in classifica.
Fortunatamente la domenica mattina sulla pista splende un caldo sole e per Thomas Chareyre e la sua TM l’obiettivo è quello di recuperare più posizioni possibili, Thomas nel warm-up ha ottenuto il miglior tempo.
Al via di gara 1 Thomas parte subito fortissimo, al primo giro è già in quinta posizione e con un passo di gara incredibile recupera fino alla seconda posizione finale.
Gara 2 è un’altro assolo per il pilota francese: Thomas parte subito fortissimo e al quinto giro è già in seconda posizione e in tutti i modi ha cercato di recuperare su Hermunen che però aveva preso un buon vantaggio e Thomas ha tagliato il traguardo al secondo posto.
Si conclude questa prima gara con un podio per Thomas ma con qualche rimpianto per la non brillante prestazione delle qualifiche.
Lunga pausa e poi di nuovo in pista il 18-19 Maggio per la seconda gara degli Internazionali d’Italia a Latina.
This first round of the World Championship took place on the track of Limatola, a very beautiful structure. Unfortunately, on Saturday, the weather was rainy all the day long.
In the Time Practice, Thomas Chareyre couldn’t find the right feeling with the wet track and because of an excessive use of the rear tyre he didn’t succeed in finishing better than 13th.
On Sunday morning, a warm sun was shining on the track and Thomas Chareyre aimed at catching up as many positions as possible. In the Warm Up, Thomas got the first fast lap time.
In the first heat, Thomas started really well and in the first lap he was 5th and with an incredible pace he recovered positions up to 2nd.
In the second heat, the French rider started really fast and in the first lap he was second and he did his best to catch up Hermunen but he had a good margin and Thomas finished 2nd.
Thomas was on the podium in this first GP, but maybe he’s not totally satisfied with his performance in the Time Practice.
Now a long break before the second round of the International Series in Latina, on 18th-19th May.
