Daniel McCoy Prepared For Hometown Hit-out.
10 Aprile 2014
Daniel McCoy will line up aboard his TM Racing Australia TM MX 250 two stroke at his
hometown race when round two of the 2014 Monster Energy MX Nationals heads to Appin
this Sunday the 13th of April.
McCoy got his season off to a great start at round one just over a week ago at Broadford,
posting a 4th place finish in the opening MX2 race of the year. He backed that up with a 9th
place finish in moto two, before a crash in the final moto put him out of the running,
leaving him 11th overall for the round.
Despite having a swollen and bruised hip and a fair bit of discomfort, after his get off at
Broadford, McCoy is confident of another strong showing in front of his friends and family
this weekend.
“I struggled a little last week after my final moto crash at Broadford, my hip is still swollen
and bruised at the moment, but I can ride and have been able to do some training so I’ll be
right for the weekend for sure.” McCoy stated.
“I always look forward to riding at home, I have a lot of family and friends coming out to
support me, this weekend. I know the venue, I ride at Appin all the time, not this track in
particular, but I know what way it goes and I know what the dirt is like on that side of the
hill, it should be a good weekend.”
Another dilemma faced not only by McCoy but all of the Sydney based riders, has been the
constant rain over the past week and a half making it difficult to find places to ride and test.
More rain is forecast fore the area right up until the weekend meaning riders could be in for
their first big mud race of 2014.
“It has been a battle to find dry tracks up here between Broadford and this weekend, which
has made it difficult to find time to ride and test.” McCoy continued.
“I think we can expect a bit of a wet track this Sunday
