TM Racing Australia Supported Riders Push Towards Top Ten At Wonthaggi
30 Aprile 2014
Energy MX Nationals on Sunday the 27th of April, TM Racing Supported riders continued to fly the flag in the MX2 class.
Racing for the Victorian based Emu Racing outfit, Joel Milesevic narrowly missed a top ten result, finishing 12th overall on the back of his 11-14 moto results.
Starting well down the field in the opening race, Milesevic pushed through the pack on the hard to pass Wonthaggi track for his 11th place result.
Moto two saw the Victorian rider jump out to a better start putting himself in a top ten position by the end of lap one. Unfortunately he was caught up in a multi rider crash at the half waypoint of the second lap.
Remounting his TM MX 250 two-stroke well and truly in last position in the forty rider field, Milesevic put in an inspired charge in the 30 minute plus one lap race, working his way forward and passing fellow competitors all the way the checkered flag, for his 14th place result.
“In the first moto I just had a terrible start and a few little issues,” Milesevic explained. “In the second moto I was sitting inside the top ten when I had a crash.
“I was dead last and got back to 14th. It was not easy coming through, the track at Wonthaggi was so one lined, it was pretty hard-packed and they watered the track so much for the second moto, it was just slick mud out there.
“The roost was really bad, my goggles were getting filled and making it hard to see, yeah it was tough.” Milesevic concluded.
Milesevic currently sits in 12th place in the MX2 championship standings after round three of the ten round championship.
Joining Milesevic on the line in the MX2 class aboard a TM MX 250 two-stroke was Full Force Racing Components Joel Evans who recorded his best single moto and overall round result to date for the 2014 season.
After finishing 19th overall at round two of th
e series two weeks ago at Appin, Evans improved to a 17th overall result at round three on the back of his season best moto result of 16th in the opening moto
He followed that up with another top 20 performance in the second moto of the day finishing 19th.
Evans is now ranked 26th in the championship standings with two solid point hauls at the past two rounds of not scoring any points at the season opener due to a crash.
Both Milesevic and Evans will be in action when the series returns for round four at Murray Bridge in South Australia on the 18th of May, while McCoy is aiming to return to racing action when the second half of the season kicks off in late June.
