SHADED PODIUM FOR CAVALLOPAVONI TWO POSITIVE RESULTSMILNER OUT FOR HEAD TRAUMA

Gelnica, a small village in northwestern Slovakia, hosted the fifth GP of the EnduroGP World Championship of the 2023 season on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July.

For the occasion, the Moto Club GL Moto Team has designed a “full offroad” and varied race course in which our riders had to face four special stages three times a day, all of a high level and very technical in which experience and control have played a key role in the success of the match.

Despite the emotional fatigue and sadness that inevitably descended on the paddock, due to the tragic accident of a pilot of the open that occurred during the prologue on Friday evening, then suspended, the Slovakian stage got underway regularly on the following day, Saturday 1 July.

The best of our drivers was Matteo Pavoni who collected two fourth places in the E1 class. On Day One the driver from Brescia was a little slow, but from the second lap he started recording excellent class times in all four special stages and just missed the podium by just nineteen seconds.

On Day 2 Matteo Pavoni started recording the best time of the E1 class in the Extreme Test and repeated it also in the second lap as well as having recorded excellent times also in the two Enduro Tests, but some errors in the enduro test made him miss again the podium.

In the E3 class Matteo Cavallo had an unlucky weekend, on Day One the driver of the Fiamme Oro (State Police) finished with an excellent second place, then relegated to fourth due to a penalty. On the following race day he had to retire due to a broken radiator with consequent loss of coolant.

Daniel Milner’s weekend was also difficult as he retired during Day One due to a bad crash and preferred not to show up on the following day of competition.

After the Slovak stage, the world enduro Circus is now taking a long break before the double Portuguese trip which, with the sixth (29/9 -1/10) and seventh (6 -8/10) will conclude the 2023 season of top FIM EnduroGP World Championship.
