Israeli motocross championship – TM brand
Giugno 6, 2013
LeeGal, the Israeli TM importer, is continuing to expand its activities in brand positioning and increasing the scope of activities in the off-road riding and Supermoto areas. As part of these activities, we have begun this year to consolidate and reinforce the TM motocross racing team. Motorsport activities have been illegal in Israel until now, so that this year is in fact the first official year of motocross racing.
Our activity includes a large racing team which is represented in most of the categories of the Israeli motocross championship. The team includes five professional riders, some of them highly experienced, who are already at the top of the championship tables and have made the podium on many occasions. We believe that this team helps us to reach our potential target audience, and to relay the required message regarding the quality and capability of our motocross bikes.
Following is a short summary of our activities and our riders.
Israeli motocross championship – TM brand
1. Juniors – Gal Malachi, 85TM
2. Enduro Popular – Zohar Galili, EN250FI
3. MX lights – Assaf Ben Aharon, MX250FI
4. Enduro professional – Nati Ziv, EN250FI
5. Motocross beginners – Matan Eliyahu, NX250FI
Juniors – Gal Malachi
Gal, who is 13.5 years old, is one of the greatest prospects in junior motocross riding. Even though he is relatively young for his category (up to 15 years old), Gal surpasses all the competitors in the Junior category. Despite missing the first round due to a shoulder injury, he did exceedingly well in the second round, finishing first overall after the two heats, and by a large gap. The success continued in the third round, with Gal continuing to dominate the category, winning both heats. Because he missed the first round, Gal currently lies second in the championship, and hopes to take over the top spot in after the next round.
Enduro Popular – Zohar Galili
47 year old Zohar Galili took part in the Enduro league until this season, representing Husqvarna until recently. Upon leaving the Endure league he started racing for TM in the Enduro Popular category in the motocross league. He joined the league in the second round with immediate success, dueling with the leading riders, mainly in the second heat, and making a very good impression for someone who is completely new to the motocross area. He finished the first heat in fourth place and the second heat in second place. In the third round Galili was already fighting for the lead, finishing third overall after finishing the first heat in second place and the second heat in third place, despite riding with a flat tire. Galili is currently ranked sixth overall in the championship.
MX lights – Assaf Ben Aharon
23 year old Assaf Ben Aharon began representing TM in the MX lights category this year. Ben Aharon, who was previously with the Yamaha team, proved his intentions already in the first round of the championship. In the first heat he was fighting for the lead when he fell and lost first place. Despite this fall, Ben Aharon succeeded in recapturing third place. In the second heat he did not repeat his mistake, and led from the start to the chequered flag. In the second round Ben Aharon did not win either of the heats, but placed second in both heats to gain important championship points. In the third round Ben Aharon returned in full force, taking firm control of the category. He won both heats convincingly and shows serious championship intentions, leading the category by 30 points.
Enduro professional – Nati Ziv
Nati Ziv joined the TM team for the second round of the championship, following two years with the Aprilia team. Despite being unfamiliar with the bike, he finished third in the first heat and fourth in the second heat. Overall, Ziv finished this round in third place, making the podium. In the second round Ziv, who was already more familiar with the bike, finished second in the first heat and third in the second heat, making the podium for the second time in a row. Ziv is currently ranked third in the championship, with serious intentions of winning the championship.
Motocross beginners – Matan Eliyahu
23 year old Matan Elyahu has been riding for the TM team since the start of the season, being ranked second overall, finishing twice on the podium and with the potential for winning the category and moving up to the professional categories. Elyahu finished second in the first round, third in the second round and fourth in the third round.LeeGal, the Israeli TM importer, is continuing to expand its activities in brand positioning and increasing the scope of activities in the off-road riding and Supermoto areas.
