Mondiale Motocross GP del Qatar

Si apre la stagione del Mondiale Motocross sulla bellissima pista di Losail in Qatar e per il secondo anno si corre in notturna.
La prima giornata ha visto protagonista il Team Ricci Racing nella Mx1: Davide Guarneri nelle qualifiche ha fatto segnare un ottimo ottavo tempo, mentre Tanel Leok al suo rientro ha chiuso in 15° posizione.
Davide Guarneri nella manche di qualifica è partito fortissimo riuscendo ad inserirsi nelle prime posizioni e grazie ad un eccezionale ritmo di gara ha tagliato il traguardo in quinta posizione; Leok deve ancora trovare il ritmo giusto e ha ottenuto il 18° posto.
Sabato notte, al via della prima manche, Guarneri non centra una buona partenza perdendo diverse posizioni, ma con una buona condotta di gara ha finito in 12° piazza, mentre Tanel Leok ha disputato una buona gara cercando di non commettere errori ed ha conquistato il 15° posto.
Nella seconda manche Guarneri per la seconda volta non è riuscito ad tro-vare una buona uscita dal cancello e dopo aver recuperato diverse posizio-ni. quando aveva trovato il giusto ritmo, si è dovuto ritirare a causa della rottura della corona. Tanel Leok ha migliorato la sua prestazione con il 14° posto finale.
Christopher Valente nella Mx2 dopo un problema tecnico nelle qualifiche ha dovuto accontentarsi delle posizioni di rincalzo nella gara di qualifica.
Christopher Valente che non è ancora al top della condizione fisica ha por-tato a termine le due manche senza commettere errori.
Il team Ricci Racing si riposerà solo qualche giorno prima di partire per la seconda lunga trasferta stagionale in Thailandia.
Ilario Ricci commenta così la gara:”Poteva andare meglio… ieri Guarneri ha fatto un’ottima qualifica, peccato per la seconda manche dove Davide stava andando veramente forte girando con i tempi dei primi, ma abbiamo rotto la corona e si è dovuto ritirare, continuiamo a lavorare in viste delle prossime gare.”
Davide Guarneri commenta così la gara:” Ieri è andata benissimo ottimo tempi di qualifica e un’ottima manche dove ho finito quinto. Oggi nella prima manche ho fatto una brutta partenza ma ho lottato fino alla finendo 12°, mentre nella seconda manche stavo tenendo un buon ritmo e sono riu-scito a passare qualche avversario, peccato che all’atterraggio di un salto forse a causa di un sasso si è rotta la corona, e mi sono dovuto ritirare.”
Tanel Leok commenta così la gara:”Sono abbastanza soddisfatto era la mia prima gara completa dal mio ritorno e posso ritenermi soddisfatto di essere riuscito a fare qualche punto, continuo a lavorare per essere in forma al 100%.”
Christopher Valente commenta così la gara:”Qualifiche non buone, le due manche non sono riuscito a partire bene, nella seconda manche ho miglio-rato un po’ i tempi sul giro, è la prima gara e devo trovare ancora la giusta condizione.
On Friday Davide Guarneri was one of the protagonists in MX1, obtaining a great 8th fastest lap time in the Pre Qualifying Race, while Tanel Leok finished 15th after his recovering.
In the Qualifying Race, Guarneri had a really fast start and was one of the leaders of the race and thanks to a great pace he finished 5th; Leok, instead, still needs more time to find his pace and finished 18th. On Saturday in MX1 first race Guarneri had not a good start losing many positions, but thanks to his consistency he finished 12th; Leok had a good race trying not to make mistakes and obtaining a good 15th place. In the second race,
Guarneri had another bad start but he recovered many positions and when he found the right pace he was forced to abandon because of the breaking of the sprocket; tanel Leok improved his performance finishing 14th.
In MX2 Christopher Valente had a technical problem in the Qualifying race and he couldn’t show his riding skills. Valente still isn’t at his best physical condition and he had two regular races without making mistakes.
Ricci Racing Team has now just few days to relax before leaving for the second GP of the season in Thailand.
Ilario Ricci: “Yesterday Guarneri had a great Qualifying Race, but unfor-tunately today in the second race we broke the sprocket and he was forced to abandon while he was leading a really good race with a great pace and great lap times. We keep on working hard to be ready for the next GPs.”
Davide Guarneri: “Yesterday I had a great day: great lap times in the Pre Qualifying Practices and a great manche where I finished 5th. Today, in the first race, I had a really bad start but I fought hard until the chequered flag finishing 12th; while in the second one, I was maintaining a very good pace and I succeeded in overtaking some riders, but while landing after a jump I broke the sprocket, maybe because of a stone, and I was forced to aban-don.”
Tanel Leok: “I’m rather satisfied with my performance. It was my first race after my coming back and I’m really happy to have succeeded in obtaining some points… I will keep on working hard to reach my top form.”
Christopher Valente: “I’m not happy of my Qualifying Race. In both races I didn’t start really well, but in the second one I improved my lap times. It’s just the first race and I need more time to find the right condition.”
