June 8, 2021
The seventh round of the Enduro Italian Championship of Italy took place in Castelli Calepio on Sunday 6 June and the Motoclub Lago di Iseo put together an excellent race with three spectacular, fast and technical special stages.
Will Ruprecht, provisional leader of the Absolute, arrived in the Bergamo village with a bruised arm, and not yet fully healed, due to an injury during a minor race. Despite the severe pain, the Australian rider started with the intention of not losing the leader’s table. Wil won six special stage out of the nine disputed and in the end he finished in second place in the Absolute classification by only 0.05 seconds (five thousandths!). Result that he remains positive in view of the Championship as he has managed to earn points on his direct opponents.
Lorenzo Macoritto proved once again that he is ready for the imminent start of the EnduroGP by winning the 250 2T class and finishing close to the top ten in the overall standings.
Matteo Pavoni also dominated the Junior class in front of the home crowd. In Fanna, on the occasion of the last two rounds of the Absolutes, the outcome of this Junior class will be decided, with Matteo Pavoni leading despite a zero in the standings.
In the 250 4t class Matteo Cavallo finished with a second place which remains positive in view of the Championship. For Matteo, a difficult day ended with a sprained left foot that will require further details in the coming days.
The Enduro Absolutes of Italy stop for a long break to make way for the Enduro World Championship which will debut with the GP of Portugal in mid-June and the Italian GP to follow.
Jarno Boano: “By now the expectations towards our Team and our riders are always high. I am happy that even on this occasion, where things were more complicated than usual, they did not give up and in the end we returned home with more than positive results both for the day and in view of the Championship. Now in two weeks it will be time for the EnduroGP and we will work to be ready. I thank all the sponsors and all TM Racing with which there is great understanding and the same goal, to work at our best!”
