First Supermoto World Championship
15 April 2012
Ottobiano – Supermotard World Championship takes off under the rain, but the beautiful circuit of Ottobiano acts at the great race that takes place without any problems.
To mention the passing of the Team SHR that line up Mauno Hermunen and Matt Winstanley from Honda to TM Factory.
Saturday’s trial sees a very fast Ivan lazzarini followed by Thomas Chareyre with Massimo Beltrami third and Mauno Hermunen came sixth.
Race 1-Tension straight away from the start of the race due to the cut out of Hermunen’s engine, who was forced to leave the starting gates, at the green light Ivan lazzarini shoots to command the race followed by Thomas Chareyre who impose a very high rhythm, but a few laps before the end, unbelievably, lazzarini falls and Thomas overtakes to the command, staying there until he passes the chequered flag.
Hermunen takes off last from the bay after having started his motor and marks up fast laps repeatedly. He recuperates to the second position.
Hermunen will then be squalified for presumed outside help to re-start his motor.
Race 2- Ivan Lazzarini takes off like lightening that takes him to the lead followed Thomas and Massimo Beltrami. Hermunen takes off from the last position but after a few laps works his way to the lead, staying there until he passes the chequered flag. Thomas overtakes Lazzarini on the last lap gaining second place Lazzarini came third and Cristian Ravaglia came fourth..
Race 3-This time Hermunen takes off from the first place, in virtue of the result of the second manche straight in the lead which he will keep to the finishing line. Ravaglia comes in second with Thomas Chareyre third followed by Winstanley, he too drawn up by TM Factory.
An act of strength by Thomas that in the last lap overtakes Cristain Ravaglia gaining second position and thus awarding himself the GP of Italy, third Ravaglia and fourth Winstanley.
Absolute classification of the GP. 1st Thomas Chareyre, 2nd Ivan Lazzarini, 3rd Cristian Ravaglia.
