ENDUROGP RD09 & RD10 – GELNICA- SLOVACCHIA

1 August 2022

RUPRECHT BACK TO THE TOP

PAVONI AND CAVALLO ON THE PODIUM

The EnduroGP World Championship last weekend made a stop in Gelnica in Slovakia, to compete in the fifth round of seven of this 2022 season. A demanding race that saw our riders busy for the entire race weekend with a race path of over 70 km to be repeated two and a half times, for a total of eight special tests.

The race weekend got underway as early as Friday evening for the usual Super Test which attracted a large and festive audience of enthusiasts. A highly technical race course, expertly designed by the Motoclub GL Moto Team in collaboration with the Track Inspector Maurizio Micheluz and made further treacherous by the numerous rains, included an Extreme Test full of artificial obstacles about 1.1 km long inside a football field, a very technical 6 km long Cross Test characterized by counter slopes, jumps and banks in motocross style and at the end of the lap a very long and technical Enduro Test of 8.5 km in a wood with soft and muddy soil with numerous roots.

Our riders stood out in their respective classes but the best of the three top riders was Wil Ruprecht who won both race days in the EnduroGP and consequently also his own E2 class. The Australian rider has filed with this excellent performance the last GP of Portugal in which he had stumbled on an unlucky weekend.

Excellent performances also for Matteo Cavallo in the E1 class; the Piemonte-based rider climbed to third place on both days of competition, demonstrating determination and speed on slippery terrain.

The excellent growth of the reigning Junior champion Matteo Pavoni continues. For the rider from Brescia, two third places in the E3 class but also excellent performances in the EnduroGP where he finished in eighth and tenth place.

The Enduro Circus does not stop and archived, the Slovak GP, it is already on its way to reach Zalaegerszeg in Hungary where the sixth and penultimate race of the 2022 season will be held this weekend (5-7 August 2022).
