INTERNATIONAL SUPERMOTO OF ITALY 2022 – RD 6/7 – POMPOSA

MARC SCHIMIDT, ELIA SAMMARTIN AND KEVIN VANDI CHAMPIONS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SUPERMOTO 2022

The L30 Racing Team in Pomposa (FE) managed to achieve all the 2022 goals at the Italian Supermoto Internationals: Marc Reiner Schmidt won another championship in the S1 International Class, Elia Sammartin added another Italian title to his long scoreboard, proving to be still the fastest Italian rider. Kevin Vandi has returned to success in the S4 class, after a season as a protagonist.
Two days full of satisfactions for the L30 Team, which gave a TM Racing a historic triple success.

S1 CLASS – DAY1:

In the premier class, the World Champion Marc Reiner Schmidt and Elia Sammartin lined up on the SMX 450 factory 2022, finishing in first and second position overall.

In race 1 Schmidt started in the lead, but due to a crash he had to give up the leadership to
Elia Sammartin, who immediately took advantage by leading the pack for 4 laps; Schmidt got back on the bike and recovered from fourth position, then overtaking his teammate and going to win. For Sammartin an excellent second place.
In race 2 Schmidt started in second position, but in the second lap he took the lead, winning undisturbed.
For Sammartin a good recovery after a bad start, reaching third place and controlling right under the checkered flag.

S4 CLASS – DAY 1:

Lined up in this class: Kevin Vandi, Alex Ruiz, Emanuele Esposito and Giovanni Galloni.

In race 1 Kevin Vandi started in second position behind a Wild Card opponent, Vandi then controlled the second position, earning precious points for the championship.
Alex Ruiz was the author of a good start behind Vandi, but a crash on the sixth lap forced him to recover that brought him up to ninth place.
For Emanuele Esposito a convincing eleventh place after a start in the middle of the pack, while Giovanni Galloni finished in twentieth position.
In race 2 Kevin Vandi always started in second position, with a good margin on the championship opponents, then keeping it up to the finish line.
Ruiz was able to capitalize on his speed and without making any mistakes he finished third.
Excellent performance for Esposito, who expressed the pace of the best, after riding for a long time in seventh position, he finished ninth.
A good step for Galloni, up to the conquest of the nineteenth position.

S1 CLASS – DAY2:

Schmidt and Sammartin were perfect, winning respectively first and second place in qualifying, but also in the two heats, closing the season in the best way.
Marc Reiner Schmidt was then crowned Champion of the S1 class in the International standing, while Elia Sammartin conquered the second place overall in the championship, winning again the Italian title.

S4 CLASS – DAY 2:

Kevin Vandi was just a few points away from winning the title and thanks to the fourth place in the first race he managed to win the Italian title in the S4 class for the fourth time in his career.

In race 1 Kevin Vandi started in the lead, then managed to the checkered flag, finishing fourth.
Alex Ruiz struggled to find the pace having no references on the track and had to settle for seventh place.
For Emanuele Esposito still a very positive test, battling with the best and conquering the eighth position.
Galloni also showed great speed, climbing up to the Top Ten, with the tenth place.
In race 2 Vandi controlled, finishing in sixth place without taking any risks, being already champion.
Ruiz managed to improving his feeling with the track and finishing seventh.
After a very fast start in ninth position, Esposito crashed, restarting last, his comeback ended in seventeenth place.
For Galloni an unlucky second heat, closed in twenty-first place.
