The L30 Racing Team riding the TM Racing Factory returned back to Italy, for the second-last round of the S1GP World Championship and the last of the S4 European Championship, at the end of the weekend Ruiz is the new 2022 Champion, while Schmidt is still at the top in S1; Vandi instead gave a great victory in front of the Italian fans.
Marc Reiner Schmidt finished third in the Superpole, in the race he signed the victory on Saturday in the rain and two second places on Sunday, results that allowed him to maintain the leadership of the S1GP World Championship.
For the reigning Italian Champion Elia Sammartin another positive weekend ended in fifth place, thus maintaining the fourth place in the championship standings, to complete the crew the Estonian rider Patrick Pals who confirmed his speed by finishing eleventh overall.
S1GP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
In race 1 Marc Reiner Schmidt got off to a very strong start, flying towards the final victory despite the attacks of his opponents.
Elia Sammartin was the author of a good start placing himself in fifth place and keeping it up to the checkered flag; Patrick Pals was fast and consistent, finishing the first heat ninth.
Race 2 “Fast race”, a solid start for Marc Reiner Schmidt, who immediately gained the first position, keeping it for 4 laps, on the fifth lap Schmidt suffered the overtaking of an opponent and then preferred to close by controlling his second position.
Elia Sammartin was still the most consistent: for him fifth place from the first lap; while Patrick Pals started late but was still the protagonist of a solid race closed in thirteenth position.
In the super final Schimdt started again in front, placing himself in second place until the ninth lap, when his rival Chareyre attacked him, but thanks to a quick response Schmidt regained the second final place.
Schmidt finished second overall in the Grand Prix, maintaining a ten point lead in the championship standing.
For Sammartin a good start, with the overtaking of the fourth lap he then gained the fourth position, keeping it up to the checkered flag, Elia consolidated his fourth place in the overall classification; Pals finished the superfinal in twelfth place, after a consistent recovery; closing in eleventh place overall.
S4 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
In S4 Vandi won the GP, thanks to a first and a second place, while Ruiz, despite a bad fall, finished in points, closing the games for the championship, with Vandi second for only 2 points.
In race 1 Alex Ruiz started in fifth position, immediately returning to the leading group. On the seventh lap, a spectacular crash for him, but Ruiz started again going on to finish in sixth place.
For Kevin Vandi an incisive race, with the start in second position and the tight fight with his opponent. Vandi finished in second place, but thanks to the penalty of his opponent he secured the victory.
In race 2 Ruiz reaffirmed his speed, starting in front of everyone despite the pain of the fall in the first heat, but for him he weighed a penalty of 20 seconds for “jump start” and was therefore relegated to third.
Vandi started behind the two opponents, controlling the final third place, also considering the subsequent penalty of Ruiz, which allowed him to finish on the top step of the podium.
IVAN LAZZARINI: “another weekend ended at the top of the two championships. It was not easy, cause the rain on Saturday and the inconveniences in the race, especially in the European Championship, when Ruiz’s crash left us breathless for a few moments, but everything went well and with Alex we put the first seal of this continental season.
Vandi was perfect in S4 and finished the championship very close to Ruiz, just 2 points.
As for the S1, Marc thought a lot, keeping the leadership, Sammartin and Pals also good, always in the high areas of the standings.
Appointment now in the middle of October, with France GP in Carole, for the last round of the world championship.
Thanks to TM Racing and to all those who support us in achieving these results.”
