TM MOTO STEELS DR JACK – EUROPEAN EMX250 – RD03 – GP OF PORTOGALLO

The GP of Portugal, the third round of the European EMX250 European Championship, was held at the Agueda track. The two days in Portugal were characterised by the season’s first heat.

Meico Vettik, riding his TM, tackled this leg of the European Championship with the right attitude right from Saturday’s time trials, obtaining a 9th overall time which finally allowed him a good position at the starting gate of the heats.

At the start of the first heat after a few metres a rider crashed right in front of Meico, who could not avoid falling in turn. He got back up and restarted the race far behind the group, but with a series of good laps, he regained many positions and finished 14th at the chequered flag.

In race two his sprint was good and immediately propelled him into the top ten. Meico, after losing a few positions, found his rhythm and climbed up throughout the heat to reach the seventh place, which he then maintained until the finish.

With these results, he finished the GP in 10th place and now occupies 14th position in the overall championship standings.

A good confidence boosts to take to Spain next week, where the fourth round of this European Championship will take place.

MEICO VETTIK: “Yesterday was a good qualifying with the ninth position. In the first heat, I had a good start from the gate but I crashed in the first corner because another guy fell in front of me. When I restarted I tried to find my rhythm and make the most of my speed, everything went well and I finished fourteenth. I was in a better position in the second race from the first lap. Yes, the first two laps were a bit slow for me and I gave up some positions, but after that, I found a good pace, ran my race, caught some guys in front of me, and finished seventh. Best result so far this year and I am happy that we are going the right way! Many thanks to my team and all the sponsors! See you in Spain next weekend”.
