The world season opens with the first round which took place on the Busca track, two-faced weather this weekend on the first day the sun was the setting for the tests and the first race of the S1GP, on Sunday the rain did not give rest throughout the day.

S1GP

In qualifying Marc Schmidt can’t find the perfect lap and has to settle for the third position but that allows him to fight for pole position in the Superpole, Elia Sammartin hasn’t found the right feeling with the track since free practice and can’t do better of the tenth place. Mitja Krasniqi closes 14th and Erik Provaznik 19th.

In Superpole, Marc Reiner Schmidt manages to improve his performance by finishing in second place.

In Race One Marc starts strong but during the first lap he slips losing many positions, the German rider threw himself into a great comeback that saw him recover in a few laps up to second, Elia Sammartin after making changes to his bike with an attacking race finished in sixth place. Mitja Krasniqi closes the race in 12th place and Erik Provaznik in 17th.

The first race on Sunday the Fast Race saw Marc Schmidt’s protagonist, the driver was exceptional with wet track conditions, Marc after starting second followed the leader of the race until the final laps when he forced him to make a mistake going on to win. Sammartin with another excellent performance manages to start very well and keeping a great pace he manages to cross the checkered flag in fifth place. Excellent recovery by Erik Provaznik who stands out for numerous overtakings that take him to 13th place. Mitja Krasniqi thanks to a fall was forced to close in the rear.

In the third and final heat, with the track made very slippery by the rain that fell continuously throughout the day, Marc Schmidt did a careful race so as not to fall which would have nullified the good placings achieved in the first two heats. Schmidt thus closed the race in second place. Sammartin is still the best Italian driver in the race with sixth place. Erik Provaznik 15th and Mitja Krasniqi 21st.

S4

The L30 Racing team riders were the best interpreters of the S4 European championship, in timed qualifying Alex Ruiz was incredible, setting an incredible time and obtaining pole position. Kevin Vandi closes the front row of the grid with third place. Lorenzo Papalini gets the fifth fastest time.

At the start of race 1 Ruiz is lightning to take the lead of the race, unfortunately during the second lap slips at this point Kevin Vandi who was in third place never misses an opportunity to overtake and take the lead. Vandi after taking the lead with incredible pace wins by a big margin. Lorenzo Papalini after moving into the second position slipped throwing away an excellent result. Alex Ruiz with a great comeback closes in third place.

In the second, the two standard-bearers of the L30 Racing team immediately take the lead at the start, with Ruiz ahead of Vandi. Kevin studied his teammate for a few laps before passing him and for the second time, he took off with fast laps. Kevin Vandi wins the race and takes home the first red plate of the season. Alex Ruiz thanks to the second place in the two races climbs on the second step of the podium. Lorenzo Papalini closes with an excellent fourth place.

Only a few days of rest for the L30 Racing Team before moving to Battipaglia for the second race of the Italian Championship.

Ivan Lazzarini: “We are very happy with the result of the S4 we could not have started better in the European Championship, Kevin was very good in both heats with an incredible pace, and Alex did well too, too bad for the crash in the race 1, Papalini did well too. In the S1 good debut for Marc with a victory and two-second places in the heats, Elia went on to improve each entry and today he was the best Italian rider, our two new riders Mitja and Erik did well too who have to get used to the very high level of the world.”
