TM MOTO STEELS DR JACK – FERMO RD3 ITALIAN PRO PRESTIGE

The historic Marches track of Monterosato di Fermo hosted the third round of the Italian Pro Prestige. A track that changed a lot over the two days, dry and fast on Saturday and wet and heavy on Sunday due to rain.

Our Meico Vettik started the weekend with time trials on Saturday morning closing with 13th place in his group.

The first heat was run on Saturday afternoon, the schedule was brought forward due to the bad weather forecast on Sunday. Meico got off to a good start but over the course of the first few rounds lost several positions slipping past the points zone. As the minutes passed, he regained confidence with the track by climbing back up to a final 21st position.

Sunday morning’s second heat, raced on the track made heavy by rain, started worse than race one but this time Meico recovered immediately and on the first pass was close to the top ten. Over the course of the heat he climbed up the rankings again to eighth place at the checkered flag.

At the end of the day, in the overall , he finished with the 12th position and now in the Elite MX2 championship standings he is seventh.

The next round of the Pro Prestige will take place June 17 and 18 in Arco di Trento.

Before that, however, there will be two rounds of the European EMX250, starting with Latvia on June 3 and 4.

MEICO VETTIK: “The first moto I had a good start despite starting from the 25th gate, the first laps I made mistakes and lost some positions. I was struggling to interpret the track, I was slow in some parts. In race two I had a worse start, but I was able to make good overtakes and had good track speed as opposed to Saturday, so finished eighth. Thanks to the team, TM and all our supporters. Now a small break before resuming with the European Championship.”
