World Championship #2: Podium Finishes and Red Plates for Team TC4R1 in Sardinia
The second round of the World Supermoto Championship took place last weekend in Tramatza, Sardinia, amidst challenging weather conditions that added to the riders’ difficulties. Despite the obstacles, Team TC4R1 delivered outstanding performances, although tire choices presented a tough challenge. Thomas Chareyre secured a spot on the podium in the premier category, while Steve Bonnal claimed a podium finish in the Rookie Cup category. Both riders proudly retained their red plates. Romain Kaivers concluded the event with a commendable ninth-place finish. Thomas Chareyre had a strong start to the weekend, demonstrating his prowess by setting the fastest time in the time practice session and securing the top spot during the Superpole. In the first race, he opted for rain tires as the track gradually dried up. After an intense battle, he conceded the lead with just three laps remaining and settled for a second-place finish. On Saturday, Thomas started in pole position for the second race but was overtaken after two laps. Despite a fiercely fought contest in which he refused to surrender, he finished in second place once again. In the third race, he started in the lead but faced stiff competition from his rivals, ultimately securing a third-place finish. Thomas Chareyre claimed the third step on the podium, maintaining his position as the championship leader with a four-point advantage over his closest competitor. Steve Bonnal also enjoyed a strong start to the weekend, securing a third-place finish in the timed practice session and a fourth-place finish in the Superpole. Like his teammate, he had to contend with rain tires in the first race, resulting in a tenth-place finish (fourth in the Rookie Cup). On Sunday, he delivered impressive performances in both races, crossing the line in seventh and sixth place overall, respectively (2-2 for the Rookie Cup). These achievements secured him sixth place in the overall weekend standings and a well-deserved second-place finish on the Rookie Cup podium. In the premier class provisional standings, he currently holds the fourth position, while maintaining a commanding 23-point lead in the Rookie Cup. Romain Kaivers showcased his skills by securing eighth place in both the timed practice session and the first race. On Sunday, he concluded the event with ninth and eighth-place finishes in the two races, earning him eighth place overall. His performance propelled him up one position in the provisional standings, where he now sits in ninth place. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our partners, whose unwavering support enables us to consistently reach the pinnacle of world Supermoto. |
