TM MOTO STEELS DR JACK – ITALIAN PRO PRESTIGE – RD4 – ARCO DI TRENTO

The fourth round of the Italian Pro Prestige had as its theater the spectacular Ciclamino track in Arco di Trento. The track with a medium-soft bottom in “world” configuration put all the riders to the test.

Our Meico Vettik, engaged in the MX2 class riding his TM, set a good sixth group time in Saturday’s time trials, obtaining both the qualification to the heats and a good position at the starting gate.

Sunday late morning saw the first heat which saw him start in the top ten. After a few settling laps Meico started to push by making a few overtakes. With a few minutes to go while he was attacking fifth position he had to retire due to mechanical trouble with his bike.

Race two started less well, Meico found himself in the middle of the group in the first few laps and had to climb the leaderboard again right away. In three laps he reached the top ten but our boy did not stop there and kept pushing. Three-quarters of the way through the race, having grabbed fifth position, he had to settle given the distance that separated him from the top four.

Had it not been for the hiccup in race one Meico would surely have come close to the podium in this event in his category.
On the contrary, in the overall, he finished with an eighth place, the same place he holds in the Elite MX2 championship standings.
In the remaining two tests, Meico can aim to improve his ranking since some riders ahead of him are only a few points ahead.
The appointment with the Italian is set for September 9 and 10 in Ponte a Egola (PI).

MEICO VETTIK: “Sunday morning in race one the start went well, only I kind of bumped with other drivers in the starting corner and lost a few positions there. From there I started my race, I had a good feeling with the bike and the track, I worked my way up to sixth position until a small technical problem prevented me from continuing, fifth place was within my reach. In the second race I had a bad start, I started really behind, so in the first laps I had to work a lot and the heat didn’t make things easier, but I’m happy with where we ended up, I think it was good to ride like that until the end picking up a fifth place which I think is a good result. It could have been better but we will keep working to get close to the top guys. Thanks to the team, TM and all our supporters.”
