MARTINEZ AND RISPOLI DOUBLE PODIUM!

On a hellish day with lots of mud on the track, our two boys performed well and both finished on the podium in their categories.

Once again it was a Tuscan track that hosted the fourth round of the Italian Pro Prestige.
The Santa Barbara di Ponte a Egola had a difficult weekend, especially on Sunday with the heavy rain that fell in the morning. Despite this, the event was completed.

Once again in the race, in the MX2 class, our own Yago Martinez and Brando Rispoli.

The weekend began on Saturday with the time trial. Yago’s performance was excellent, recording the best time in his group. For Brando, eighth in his group.

On Sunday there was a lot of mud on the track and it was much harder to tackle.

At the start of the first race, both our guys made a good start and found themselves in the front positions. Yago took second place on the third lap, while Brando recovered to ninth. With two laps to go, Yago crashed and got stuck in the mud.
The same fate befell Brando, who crashed while running in third position. At the finish line, when the stewards waved the red flag, Brando finished eighth and Yago fourteenth.

The second race was held on more manageable terrain and saw Brando make the hole shot and Yago take the lead a few metres later. During the first lap they both dropped back a few positions, but Yago took advantage of some mistakes by his rivals to regain the lead and never relinquished it until the chequered flag. It was his first race win in this competition. Brando climbed from seventh to sixth in the standings.

Yago continues to hold second place in the Elite MX2 class, while Brando climbs to sixth in the Fast MX2 class.

Next up for the team is the Czech GP at Locket on 20-21 July.

YAGO MARTINEZ: “Man, what a race! The first race win that means so much to us. Another race where it rained a lot and we found a very difficult track, which caused me to crash in the first race when I was second. The second race was very intense with another crash, but we managed to win. I want more and to take the overall win. Thanks to the team and everyone who supports us.

BRANDO RISPOLI: “A weekend of ups and downs, on Saturday I struggled to find the second place that would have been useful for an excellent qualifying. On Sunday I was very fast in the mud, in the first race I started in 33rd position, I recovered to 2nd, then unfortunately the bike could not finish the race. In race two a hole shot and two crashes on the first lap threatened the race, but I’m still happy to have shown this speed in the mud. Thanks to everybody”.
