ITALIANO PRO PRESTIGE ROUND #5 – CASTIGLIONE DEL LAGO (PG)

It was the Gioiella di Ponte a Egola (PG) circuit that hosted the fifth round of the Italian Pro Prestige. A weekend marked by the big jump put a strain on the boys of the Motorcycle Club, who nevertheless worked well to present a track ready for the event.

In the race for the team Yago Martinez and Brando Rispoli both engaged in MX2.

It was a very complicated weekend for Yago, who, after discovering that he had a virus that would prevent him from having the necessary strength in the race, still wanted to take part in the race in order to score points and at least maintain his position in the championship. A race in which he had to play defence, something he was certainly not used to. In the end, after a good qualifying session that ended with the best time in his group, he tried to regain his strength for the heats on Sunday.
Fighting more with himself than with the others in the two groups, Yago scored a 14th and an 11th place, leaving him in second place in the championship reserved for Elite MX2 riders after this fifth stage. Now he will have some rest to try to recover as much as possible for the last stage of the World Championship in Spain and for the last round of the Italian Championship in Arco di Trento.

Brando, on the other hand, started Saturday’s time trials in third place in the group. On Sunday, he was always in the first positions on his 2T and fought to stay in front. Too bad that in both heats he had a small crash in the final which caused him to lose positions in both heats. In the end he finished 6th and 9th, which put him on the second step of the Fast MX2 podium for the day. There was certainly a chance of winning the overall championship, but unfortunately he just missed out.
He now sits in fifth place in the championship standings and will be hoping to make up ground at the final round in Arco.

Next appointment for the team next Saturday and Sunday at Monterosato di Fermo, for Brando begin the finals of the Italian Junior reserved for 125.

BRANDO RISPOLI: “The race started very well, I was happy with Saturday’s qualifying even though I knew I would suffer on Sunday. The finger fracture is still there and I had some pain during the qualifying sessions, but I managed to finish 2nd in the fast session. We continue to work to improve, the feeling on the bike is great, I thank everyone”.
