TM MOTO STEELS DR JACK – EUROPEAN EMX125 RD11 – GP OF CASTILLA DE LA MANCHA
For the final act of the Motocross World Championship, the caravan moved to Spain, to Castilla de la Mancha. A track that hosted the European Championship for the first time and two days of sunshine attracted a large crowd to celebrate all the 2024 champions.
Only Brando Rispoli was present for our team, as he was competing in the final round of the EMX125 European Championship, while Yago Martinez was unfortunately absent as he had to finish his season in the MX2 World Championship. Unfortunately the stop for the blood virus discovered a few weeks ago did not allow him to train, if all goes as planned we will see him at the last round of the Italian Pro Prestige in Arco di Trento.
Brando started Saturday’s free practice and time trial with 13th fastest time.
At the start of race one on Saturday afternoon, Brando got off to a flying start and was third after the first corner. He lost a few positions in the first few laps, but then picked up his pace and managed to stay with the leaders, battling for the top five throughout the race. He crossed the line in sixth place.
Sunday morning’s second heat saw him make a poor start from the gate and find himself in the middle of the pack in the early stages. However, Brando never lost heart and worked his way back lap by lap to finish the race in eighth place.
These results put him in sixth place in the overall GP and tenth in the final EMX125 championship standings.
Surely he could have done even better had he not missed three of the eleven rounds of this championship due to flu and then injury, he could definitely have been close to the top five. His best result was second place in the Italian GP at Maggiora.
For the team, the year will end with the last two finals of the Italian Junior Championship with Brando Rispoli (the first of which will take place next weekend at Ponte a Egola) and the final stage of the Italian Pro Prestige at Arco di Trento on 12th and 13th October, with both our riders taking part.
BRANDO RISPOLI: “The Cózar track put me to the test with my technique. The track had a very slippery surface that had to be understood immediately. I am happy with the way the weekend started, 6th place and a holeshot, after Maggiora I always wanted more, but I am aware that I gave 100% in this championship. I am 10th in the championship with 6 zeros, I had an injury that made me miss two races and in Riola I didn’t race because of a fever. I’d like to thank the team for their efforts, the bike is getting better from race to race, it’s at a good point. Now I will concentrate on the last national races, I greet and thank my Motoclub Torre della Meloria, Ivano Zanatta, Simone Lorenzoni, who believed in me so much, and I also thank the other sponsors who supported me so much”.
