INTERNATIONAL OF ITALY MX 2025 – RD#2 MONTEVARCHI (AR) – TM YOUTH MX

21 February 2025

Second and final round of the Internazionali d’Italia MX was staged this weekend at the Miravalle circuit in Montevarchi.

The sun finally shone on the Tuscan circuit, but the heavy rain that fell in the days leading up to the event forced the organising motoclub to do a huge amount of restoration work. The track is in fair condition, but in some places it is very challenging and treacherous.

Sunday morning starts with the qualifying of the 125cc class, and Gennaro Utech, after a few passes to study the best trajectories, manages to achieve 6th place.

In Race 1 he got off to a great start from the gate and was already in second place on the second lap. He set the fastest lap of the race (1:57.093) on lap 3 to reduce the gap to Mannini (TM CRD Motorsport). On lap 5, when the gap was now only two tenths, a small mistake slowed him down and he decided to manage the race, finishing in second place.

In Race 2 Utech also got off to a great start and was in third place at the first corner. At the end of the first lap he launched the attack and moved into second place, maintaining an excellent pace and always responding to his rivals’ attempts to overtake him. Unfortunately, with two laps to go, a technical problem forced him to retire. A second place in both heats would have put him on the top step of the podium. Too bad!

Riccardo Pini, also starting in the 125 class, finished qualifying in 14th position.
In Race 1, at the start, he gets stuck under the starting gate, finding himself forced to restart from the back. During the comeback, a small crash slows him down, but he still manages to finish in 17th position.
In Race 2, a good start brought him close to the top 10 in the early stages of the race, allowing him to climb up to 9th place.

In the MX2 class, Luca Rosati struggled to find the right feeling with the track and finished qualifying in 24th position.

Both heats were marked by difficult starts: in Race 1 he crossed the line in 29th position at the end of the first lap, but with great determination he began a comeback that took him up to 18th position.
In Race 2, a contact at the first corner forces him to start from the last position, but with a good pace he still manages to recover up to 23rd position.

Gennaro Utech:

‘The weekend started well with a sixth position in qualifying.

I made a strong start in both heats: in the first one I closed in second position, managing the race, while in the second one, again in second position, with two laps to go, unfortunately a technical problem stopped my bike and I lost the opportunity to win the race.

However, I am satisfied with the speed and pace we showed!’

Luca Rosati:

Mattia Serafini (Team Manager):
