TM MOTO STEELS DR JACK – CZECH REPUBLIC GP – MX2 RD13 – EMX2T FINAL
July 24, 2024
As has been the case for many years now, the GP of the Czech Republic, the thirteenth round of the World Championship and, on this occasion, the final of the EMX2T European Championship took place at the Loket circuit.
While Yago Martinez was competing in the MX2 class as usual, Brando Rispoli took the opportunity to ride the new 250cc prototype in the EMX2T final.
Riding their TMs, the two youngsters approached the weekend with a strong desire to do well.
In the time trials on Saturday Yago finished in 17th place, which was the reference to go to the gate for the MX2 qualifying race. A race that saw him fight in the middle of the group and then move up a few positions to finish in 16th place.
For Brando, in addition to qualifying, he finished with the 15th fastest time.

In the early afternoon the first EMX2T race started and Brando started in the top ten. After a few laps in tenth position a small problem caused him to lose a few positions, from there he tried to climb as high as possible and finished in 12th position.
Sunday morning in race two things went better from the start. Brando was in third position until the middle of the race, but in the last few minutes a physical decline due to some pains he had been suffering for some time caused him to lose two positions and finish fifth.
In the final standings of this one-off race he finished in eighth place, aware that with better fitness and a little more luck things could have gone much better.
BRANDO RISPOLI: ‘A fun weekend on a beautiful track. We needed a good start to set the pace, which did not happen in race one, where I only finished 12th after a hiccup in the middle of the race. In race two I had an excellent start and after running 3rd throughout the race I dropped back to 5th in the final laps. A good result for me as I was sick all week and had no chance to train, but I took the opportunity that TM Moto gave me to race with a fantastic bike. I am very grateful to them and to the Steels team and all the people who help us.
The two MX2 races for Yago were characterised by good starts, but unfortunately his physical condition did not allow him to finish the races. It was a shame because for as long as he could he fought in the top ten in both motos. Then his physical condition told him to stop and Yago retired in both races, failing to score any points. It was a shame because on Saturday his pace was promising and we were confident of seeing him in the positions he deserved.
YAGO MARTINEZ: ‘I’ve had a difficult race with physical problems, I’ve been suffering from a fatigue that wasn’t normal all weekend, it’s time to have a good rest to reach Lommel in good condition. I will have to give 110% over the long weekend on the sandy track.
Next up for the MX2 World Championship is the GP of Flanders in Lommel next weekend. Another chance for Yago to show himself, while Brando will have to wait until August for the EMX125 tests.
