TM MOTO STEELS DR JACK – ITALIAN PRO PRESTIGE RD02 – MAGGIORA (NO)

The historic Maggiora Park track hosted the second round of the Italian Pro Prestige. The track made heavy by the rain on Friday improved over the weekend, allowing the riders to put on a show.

Our Meico Vettik, engaged as always with his TM in the Elite MX2 class, started the weekend well by obtaining the fourth fastest time of his group in the time trials. A performance that allowed him to choose a good position at the gate for Sunday’s heats.

At the start of race one his start was good and immediately propelled him into the top ten positions. Meico stabilised after the first laps in seventh position, which he maintained until the chequered flag. Unfortunately, he had lost contact with those ahead of him and when he increased his pace it was no longer possible to catch them.

The second heat got off to a bad start, his sprint was not good and forced him to climb from the back of the group. His race was good, but his comeback stopped in the 16th position despite a second part of the heat done at the best pace.

With each race, the positive signs are increasing and when certain details are improved we will see him consistently in the positions that count.

Now it’s back to the EMX250 European Championship, which will see us busy at the Agueda track in Portugal next weekend.

MEICO VETTIK: “The first race got off to a decent start and I rode most of the heat in 7th place, didn’t have the best speed in the first part but then got better in the final. The second heat got off to a bad start, I climbed from the back to 16th, struggled a lot with overtaking, and was not so easy. We continue to work on the aspects that still don’t allow me to be in the top positions. Now we go to Portugal hoping to make further progress. Thanks to the team, to TM and to everyone who supports us”.
