Mettet: A Superb First World Title for Steve Bonnal

The sixth and final round of the Supermoto World Championship took place on October 6, 7, and 8 at the iconic Mettet circuit in Belgium. Unfortunately, Thomas Chareyre couldn’t defend the team’s colors due to an injury sustained during training a few days before the event. However, he was present to support his teammates, Steve Bonnal, Romain Kaivers, and Alexis Hoareau.

The team once again achieved outstanding results, including a superb first world title for Steve Bonnal, who finished first in the Rookie Cup.

Steve Bonnal brilliantly secured his first world championship title by winning the S1 Rookie Cup. He secured the third position on the starting grid during the superpole and had an excellent weekend with 4/4/4 finishes in the three races, allowing him to claim the third spot on the podium for the event. In the Rookie Cup, he had a fantastic 2/2/1 performance, which placed him back on top of the category podium and earned him the title.

Romain Kaivers had a strong weekend on his home turf, finishing 5th in the Superpole and achieving 7th/13th/6th place in the three races. This secured him 7th place for the event and maintained his impressive 9th place in the overall World Championship standings.

Alexis Hoareau continued to make an impression in his second World Championship appearance. He secured the tenth position in the time trials and finished 11th/6th/5th in the three races (5/3/2 in the Rookie Cup). This placed him on the third step of the Rookie Cup podium and sixth in the S1 category standings.
