TM MOTO STEELS DR JACK – ITALIAN JUNIOR FINAL ROUND #2 – PONTE A EGOLA (PI)
The Santa Barbara of Ponte a Egola (PI) was the venue for the second final of the Italian Junior 2024, also dedicated to the 125cc category, with Brando Rispoli once again riding for our team.
It was a track that Brando knew well, and thanks to the rain in the days leading up to the race, it presented itself perfectly to the youngsters on the track. Riding his TM 125, Brando took part in the time trial on Saturday afternoon, setting the third fastest time in his group despite never having a yellow flag free lap.
With a very good gate position, he went into race one confident that he could do well. At the start of the first race he made a great start and immediately moved into second place behind the provisional leader. However, a contact with another rider on the first lap caused him to lose positions and drop back to fifth. After a few laps, in which Brando held sixth place, another incident dropped him back to 15th. As he rejoined the track, another hiccup caused by a crash in front of him saw him take the chequered flag in 14th.
In the second race it was a perfect start that earned him the hole shot. Brando held the lead until the fourth lap, when he was overtaken by red table Bellei. On the eighth lap he was also attacked by Gaspari, but he managed to move up to third position, where he stayed all the way to the chequered flag.
With these results, Brando finished the day in fourth place overall and fifth in the championship. In the next and last final, he will have to try everything to finish on the podium, even if it will be very difficult.
Appointment in two weeks, on 19 and 20 October, in Ottobiano (MI) for the last act of this championship. Next Saturday and Sunday the team will be busy in Arco di Trento (TN) for the last round of the Italian Pro Prestige with both our riders competing. We will see Yago Martinez back after a break due to physical problems, together with Brando they will both race in the MX2 class.
BRANDO RISPOLI: “A weekend that ended with a bitter taste in my mouth. I had a good race pace, but unfortunately two crashes in the first race, caused by contact with other riders, meant that I only finished 14th. In the second race I got the holeshot, which made the whole race easier for me, I finished 3rd, fourth overall. If it hadnŽt been for the first race IŽd have been on the podium, so IŽd like to thank everyone.
